Out of Sight

Young people take a journey through their neighbourhood, reviewing their surroundings and probing their findings.  Harnessing new found creative and technical photography skills, the camera becomes a tool for self-expression and raised awareness, with each photographer producing a unique perspective.

Rocks

Rocks

My special objects are my 4 rocks as they came from Hastings where my Dad lives and it was the first time I had visited him. These rocks have holes straight through the middle and it means I’ll always go back to that place again

Deer Bambi

Deer Bambi

Memories of my childhood, what wonderful times. Movies can put real life into perspective

- Bailey (13)

Road

Road

To me the curved road represents what is bad in your life. Instead of staying where you are, you should travel down the ‘road’ and tackle your problems head on

- Felix (14)

The mighty chicken

The mighty chicken

This chicken has respect because it’s the biggest of them all, mighty and independent

- Kyelai (12)

Market

Market

Stacks of pride and hard work, effort always counts

Light coming through

Light coming through

The light symbolises for me a spirit going up into heaven (if you look closely you will see a bird) and being one with God

- Samsara (15)

Cracks

Cracks

Cracks in pavements show that no matter how strong you are you can still break

- Bailey (13)

Dog

Dog

I captured this photo at a pivotal moment, when a dog (some may say “man’s best friend”) was giving a smile

- Felix (14)

Ultraviolet Life

Ultraviolet Life

I just love how the colours contrast with one another. This photo shows how colour can be so meaningful and how it can change someone’s mood

Little things count

Little things count

I like this picture because it gives a lot of detail and shows a lot of texture on the wall. I also like that the moss is in focus and the background is blurred, this draws attention to the main subject

- Mia (12)

Lights

Lights

Each light is different, perfect in it’s own way. Each light is trying to outshine the other, when really they’re all the same

- Romanie (11)

River and ducklings

River and ducklings

I selected this photo because I like the family of ducklings as it represents unity

- Danielle (12)

London

London

A multi-cultural city and we should all embrace each other’s race and religion

- Felix (14)

Broken glass

Broken glass

Glass can mean many things, depressed, upset and angry

- Preeti (12)

Spring blossom

Spring blossom

I think the blossoms and the light give a peaceful mood and the background shows the beauty of the branches

The black cat

The black cat

I used to have a cat. I like the way the cat is sitting and the shape of it, it looks very calm

- Preeti (12)

Lights, camera, night

Lights, camera, night

:This photo was made to show the true beauty of Woolwich at night rather than just seeing a crime scene

- Zuriel (12)

Jamaican Vibes

Jamaican Vibes

Jamaica’s aura recreated in London

- Saalma (15)

Empty streets

Empty streets

A quiet street can speak a lot

- Saalma (15)

Maryon Park

Maryon Park

It is like something has been broken and it has things around it reminding them of who they were and it is never too late. When you’re down the things around you bring you back up

- Romanie (11)

Glowing like a Gift

Glowing like a Gift

The picture of the lady shows that people will be nice if you come to them politely they will be nice back to you

- Samsara (15)

Fly eagle fly

Fly eagle fly

This eagle represents freedom and independence. This mighty eagle soars through the sky knowing that he gives everyone hope

- Habeeb (13)

Grass

Grass

Even though the skies are grey it’s still a beautiful day

- Romanie (11)

The blurry man

The blurry man

This gives a mysterious vibe because you don’t know who it is and never will

- Wyley (13)

Memory

Memory

My special object is a baby picture of me and my brother. It means a lot to me because it is a memory that I can hold
